Class notes from 11/26/08- Chp 2 pg 43

Naamkarma ka uday continuted

Today we continued the discussion of naam karma and several types of naam karma.

The types that were discussed today:

1) Sehanan- sharir ki rachna for e.g. vajra

2) Sthul- chhota, mota, sprashan gun ki paryay
All 20 parkrutis of sparshan exist at the same time. Similarly, all 5 types of Varna exist (uday hota hai) at the same time

3) Uchvas- is naam ke karma se hum shvaas lete hain
Shvasoshvas jivitavya ka karan hai. 10 pran hai usme se yeh ek hai. Jivitavya ke karnno mein se sabse balvan karan aayu karma hai.

4) Swar- swar karma ke uday se swar utpann hota hai.
Sharir pudgal hai isliye usme me sparsh, ras, gnadh aadi hai. Shabd bhi pudgal ke pind hai- aur shabd matlab bhasha vargana ki pudgal rup parinamiti.
Sakshar/ anakshar shabd ka difference: Sounds, rhythm, dhvani with no words is anakshar rup or swar rup. Akshar rup is with words and is found only in sangni panchendriya.

5) Gamanagaman: Jis karma se aakash dravya mein gaman aur aagaman rup pravrutti hoti hai. There are two types, shubh and ashubh. Just like 2 people if tied together, only the more powerful will get things done, similarly, sharir and aatma are tied together. There could be several options like sharir ki shakti ho ya na ho and aatma ki iccha ho ya na ho. Generally karya tab hi ho sakta hai jan sharir ki shakti ho aur aatma ki iccha ho (sharir ke iccha nahhi hoti). Lekin kabhi kuch bahya badhak karan bhi ho sakte hai jinki vajeh se karya sampann nahi hota. Sharir ki shakti hai, aatma ki iccha hai lekin baarish hai to baahar nahi ja sakte. Anek dusre badhak karan hai. We need to keep in mind that jahan ek karya banta hai, vaha bahut saare karan milte hai tab jake karya hota hai.

Ab aise types ka discussion jo MMP mein describe nahi kiye gaye:

6) Anupurvi- Vigrah gati mein aatma ka shape jisse banta hai. Purane sharir ka shape retain hota hai. Yadi manushya chhod ke dev mein jaaye to vo devgatyanupurvi karma kehlata hai.

7) Upghat- apna sharir apna hi ghaat kare
8) Parghat- Apne sharir ke ang aise jo dusre jeev ka ghat kare

9) Aatap- jiske nimit se bahya mein sharir se prakash utpann hota hai aur sharir garma rehta hain- eg surya- found in tiryanch only
10) Udyot- jiske nimit se bahya mein sharir se prakash utpann hota hai aur sharir sheetal rehta hain. eg- chandrama—found only in tiryanch

11) Agurulaghu—jisse sharir bahut bhaari ya halkaa nahi hota

12) Badar- kisi se ruk jaata hai ya kisi ko rok sakta hai Kuch aise bhi hai jo dikhte nahi, par fir bhai badar hai
13) Sukshma- na kisi se rukte hai, na rok sakte hai—ekendriya ke hi payi jati hai isliye paap prakruti hai. Tras jeev sirf badar hote hai

14) Aparyapt- aparyapt hai to antarmuhurt mein mrutyu nischit hai- otherwise paryapth ho jata hai

15) Subhag- anya jeev ko priti hoti hai dekhne se aise ang/sharir
16) Durbhag- anya jeev ko priti nahi dvesh ho dekhne se aise ang/sharir

17) Aadey- sharir mein kanti hoti hai
18) Anadey-sharir mein kanti nahi hoti

19) Shubh- sharir ke avyay sundar hote hai. This is different from Subhag since isme priti ka bhaav nahi hota
20) Ashubh- avyay sundar nahi hote. Similarly different than Durbhag since isme dvesh/apriti ka bhaav nahi hota.

21) Suswar- accha swar hona
22) Duswar- accha swar nahi hona

23) Pratyek- jis sharir ka ek hi swami. Pratyek mein two types- jinke ashray se nigodhia jeev rehte hai- eg kela, kakdi, bhindi. Other type is jisme nigodh jeev rehte hai lekin fir continuously utpann nahi hote
24) Sadharan- Ek sharir ke anek swami- found in nigodh jeev of vansapatis like kandmul
25) Sthir Asthir- Sharir mein cough, pitt etc.agar asthir ho to rogadik ki utpatti hoti hai. If sthir ho to sharir rograhit rehta hai.

26) Tirthankar- moksh marg mein uski sthiti nahi hai

Other notes:


1) Sharir ke jaise bhi hone mein naam karma ka uday samarth karan hai- baaki bahya karan like exercise etc asamarth hai.

2) Naam karma ke asankhya bhed hai leking kkeval gyani utna hi batate hai jitna chadmasta ke gyan gamya hai aur prayojanbhut hai.

3) Purusharth to karna chahiye lekin jo ekant manyata hai ki maine yeh kiya, vo change karna hai kyonki hamare chahne se ya purusharth karne se vastu ho hi jaaye aisa nahi.

4) Sansar avastha mein tirthankar aur aaharak sharir yeh naam karma nahi hai

5) Manushya mein vaikriya sharir aur tiryanch prakrutiya nahi

Gotra Karma

1) Jis kul mein acche sansakr aur diksha lene yogya kul hai vo ucch kul kehlate hai. Jinme maas bhakshan aur madya pan ho vaise kul nich kehlate hai.

2) Gotra karm change nahi hota- it remains what u have at the time of birth.
Kul ucha hai ke nicha vo kevli gamya hai- gotra karma kaafi sukshma hai

3) Kshudra, tiryanch aur narki nich gotra mane gaye hai. Manushay mein ucha nich dono hai aur dev ko uch gotra hi hai.


Jo bhi kaha hai uspar vichar kare to hamari avastha se match hota hai aisi pratiti hame hogi. Aisi pratiti hone par granthadi mein shraddhan badhta hai. Isliye vichar, chintan karna aavashyak hai.

बहुत हि बढिया point. यदि इसे चिंतन में लाये तो लौकिक दु:ख तो कम होगा हि, शरीर और जीव के भेदज्ञान में भी मदद मिलेगी.

One correction:
Pratyek mein two types- jinke ashray se nigodhia jeev rehte hai- eg kela, kakdi, bhindi. Other type is jisme nigodh jeev rehte hai lekin fir continuously utpann nahi hote
Correction: kela, kakdi etc जो हम खाते है, उसमें निगोदिया जीव नहिं है. अगर हो, तो खाना योग्य नहिं है क्योंकि अनंत जीव का घात होगा. However these were with nigodiya jeev at some early point ie. जब ये कच्चे होते है, but after sometime निगोदिया जीव होना बंद हो जाते है और तब ये अप्रतिष्ठित कहलाते है.

Also bhogbhumi manushya always have uchcha gotra uday.
