Notes for 11/17/08

There is 4 type of Kashay
Anantanubandi, pratyakhayan, Apratyakhayn, sanjwlan

9 no kashay – "kinchet"(minor) indirect effect on the soul. Krodh kayay do the major cause but no-kahay is minor. No-kasha is not so stronge and also called Akahay. No-kasha needs help from the 4 major kashay(Krodh, Maan ,Maya, Lobh) to come out. EX- Like if you have maya or maan(kashay) them hasya kashay can come. It's depended in the 4 major kahay.

9 types of no-kashay:
Hasya , rati, artai, shook, Bhay, Jugupsa, 3 Ved

1-हास्य- To laugh/amusement on the funny stuff, worldly funny. Like the gods statue should not be laughing pose but it should be peaceful and veethraag pose. All kashay will damage the true nature of the soul. Hence the hasya kahsy also does the same thing.

2-रति- is to like somebody or something - is also the minor version is "RAAG". It can give you feeling to get more and forever. Like cat's love for milk or mouse

3-अरति – Is to not like anything or anybody

4-शोक- shook kashay is the gloominess/melancholy state after to loosing something or somebody, nice things in past, good friends, family.

4.1- Arth dhaya- Think about the old memories (good or bad) Arth dhyan can be for future/present like ‘vedana’.

4.2-रोद्र ध्यान - Raudra dhyan is to have fun in sinful activities like in hunting, eating meat, gambling etc.

4.3-धर्म ध्यान - To think about the religious things and dharm related

4.4-शुक्ल धयान- Is the kind of dhayn only attain by siddhya or trthanker bhagwaan.

5-भय- Bhay is the feeling to lose something and somebody (good and bad )

6-जुगुप्सा- The feeling of not likes something and somebody (hate is the intense form of Jugupsa). Do not want to keep close to him.

Rule is that there may be cases in karm bhumi manushya and tiryanch where dravya and bhav ved are not same. But for every jeev it is not applied, only in some cases.

Thanks for posting it.

Couple corrections:
- You have put 4 dhyan as part of shok kashay. Please remove the sub-numbers (4.1/2/3/4), so it doesn't look like subtypes of shok-kashay.

- 4.1- Arth dhaya- Think about the old memories (good or bad) Arth dhyan can be for future/present like ‘vedana’.

Correction: आर्त ध्यान is not only thinking about old/future memories. It's mostly constantly thinking to get something or get rid of something you don't like, or thinking about the losing (something/someone).

- 4.4-शुक्ल धयान- Is the kind of dhayn only attain by siddhya or trthanker bhagwaan.

Correction: शुक्ल ध्यान is not only for Tirthankar or siddha bhagwan. It starts from 8th Gunasthan which is muni avastha.
Also siddha bhagwan doesn't have any dhyan. They have attained the dhyan's phal (स्वरुप स्थिरता), hence no other dhyan.
