Why is it important that we know the names of these granths?

These granths are our virasat, our treasure. As we know all details about our laukik assets like money, jewelry, stocks etc., we should know about our granths as well since they are our assets. Money et. will give us bhog prapti but aagam se dharm ki prapti hoti hai. We tend to be happy to see increase in our personal assets; similarly, apne dharm granth ke naam sunkar, jaankar hamey prasannta honi chahiye, otherwise we do not have ruchi in dharm.

Additionally, knowing these granths makes us realize how limited our knowledge is and therefore we should not be proud of any (little) knowledge we have acquired. It also helps us imagine the vastness of avdhi gyan, manah paryay gyan and of course keval gyan. These granths are like medicines- once we figure out what we are suffering from (raag, dvesh, mithyatva etc.) we need to know what medicines are available so we can pick the appropriate ones to get rid of our ailment.

Pg 304-

Here it is advised that we should first start our learning with Prathmanuyog. However, there is no specified order of learning the Anuyogs. We should understand which level of awareness we are at and study those scriptures that help improve our parinam (reduce raag dvesh etc.) If studying a granth causes us to be dharm vimukh, that is not the right one for us (for e.g. if we read dravyanuyog and think that doing kriyas won't take us anywhere and stop doing kriyas that would be wrong).

It is not necessary to finish one granth/anuyog and then pick up the other. We can simultaneously study multiple granths if so desired.

Bottom line is that we should study granths that talk about vitrag vigyan, reducing mithyatva, emphasise anekantvad through syadvad and help us remain enthusiastically involved and interested in eventually attaining samyak gyan.

Finally, it is mentioned that aagam gyan is the first step towards moksh. There could be a potential for contradiction there since we have earlier learnt that samyak darshan is the first step towards moksh. The resolution is that aagam gyan will lead to samyak gyan which will lead to samyak darshan. Aagam gyan is the first saadhan and samyak darshan is the first sadhya.

Note: There is no specified order of learning the Anuyogs. But there is a niyam as relates to adhyatma. We should first study Aagam, mul granth, tatva gyan etc. before studying adhyatma granths. Anya anuyog mein niyam nahi phir bhi vidvan sanmat kram hai. For a child, we should first start with Prathmanuyog and Charnanuyog i.e. start with kriyas first such as puja karna, ratri bhojan nahi karna etc. with reasons as to why we do the kriyas. Then we can introduce dravyanuyog and karnanuyog with emphasis on karma theory, structure of trilok, swarg nark etc. This kram is not scripted anywhere but based on experience.
