5/27-Chapter 2 - Ghatiya_Aghatiya Karmas

Ghatiya karma - Atama ke svabhav/gunno ka ghat karne wale.
Aghatiya karma - Atama ke gunno ka ghat nahi karte but bahiya samagri ka sayong karate hai. Karmo ke uday se hi hoti hai, icha kam nahin karti.

Types of ghatiya karma
Servaghati : serva ka ghat karne wala
Deshghati : partial

Meaning & rules of kshayopshum (applicable to all 4 ghati karmas)
1. Servaghati ka udiyabhavik kshay (since it is not nirjara - complete distruction) : servaghati ka uday nahi hona (Servaghati ke spardhak gets converted to deshghati (less intensed))
2. Deshghati ka uday me aana
3. Aupsham (aprshast Aupsham) - Future ke servaghati ka abhi uday main nahin aana.

Gyanavarnia
1. Mati gyanavarnia/shrut gyanavarnia/manhapariyay gyanavarnia/avadhi gyan ka kshayopshum hota hai - kshayopshumik bhav.
kshayopshumik bhav : Karma ke kshayopshum se pragat hone vale bhav.
2.Kavaligyanavarnia ka kshay hota hai - Kshayik bhav.
Kshayik bhav : Karma ke kshay se pragat hone vale bhav.

Mohaniya
Types
1. Darshan Mohaniya (Mithiyatava)
2. Charitra Mohaniya (Kashayas)-Mohaniya se charitra ka ghat hota hai-Viprit svabhav ki vyakta hoti hai.

* Ghatiya karmo se jiva ke svabhav ka ghat anadi se hota aa raha hai. Jivas that are 'asudh' at present are asudh from anadi but once they become 'sudh' there is no turning back.
* Jivas by nature area capable of 'kevalgyan'. Since jeevas & karmas are attached from'anadi' that capacity/shakti pragat nahin hoti.
* Karmo ke nimit ke bina kevalgyanadi (kevalgyan, keval darshan, samyakt, shej sukh) pragat hoga. Since karmas destroys/reduces this shakti (not svabhav itself) they are called ghatiya karmas.

Aghatiya
- sata/asata rupbahiya samagri ka sayong hota hai.
Saata : +ve feeling
asaata : -ve feeling

Vadniya
- sharir or sharir se related sata/asata samagri ka sayong.
example : health,wife, son, money etcTypes1. Sata Vadniya2. asata Vadniya
Vedan : Feelings
If there is no mohaniya there is no 'ichha' and hence vadniya will not have any effect. Mohaniya karma se bahiya samagari main sukh-dukh ka anubhav hota hai.
Example - Kevalibhagwan (Arihant)

Aayu
- Stithi ke anusar jiva ko sharir me rahena hoga. Kam/jayada nahi ho sakta.
- Aayu ki 'udirna' karm bhumi ke jeevo main payee jati hai.
Udirna : to become active before its due time.

Name
- Gati/Jaati(panchendriya/ekendriay..etc)/Sharir

Gotra
- Ucha/Neech kul main janam hona, high/low status.

Antray (can be calssified in both Ghati and Aghati karmas)
-is considered as aghati in absence of Mohaniya (kisi apeksha se)
- Viray/Shakti ka ghat karta hai isliye Ghati hota hai.

* Ghati karmas are asubh/paap rup karmas - puniya rup prakriya se mandata ayeegi.
* Agati karmas puniya/paap rup hote hai. -puniya rup prakriya se iname farak pageda.
* Aghatiya karmo se jiva sthul ho jata hai (instead of suskhma). Jivas ke 'nij svabhav' sva-arth main pragat nahin hote.

Relation between Pudagal Karmas and chetan Atama
* Karmas, being pudagal, directly atama ke svabhav ka ghat nahin kar sakta but Karmas and atama have 'nimit- naimitik' relation.
Nimit - Akinchit karan
Naimitik - Nimit ke vajaha se ko kariya utpan hua hai.
* Jab karma ka udya hota hai tab atam vibhav rup se parniman karta hai example Anesthesia.

One Correction about Udirana: Udirna is to become active before its due time. Uday is to be become active.
