Distinctive Qualities of right shastra / aagam

1. Swadvad

2. Can't be broken

Why shastras are respectable - Provides knowledge of tatvas -> leads to right faith -> leads to vitragta -> leads to true happiness.

Dev - right belief

Shastra- right knowledge

Guru- right conduct

Other forms of respect

1. Dravya- jain temples, Arikajis, shraks with right faith

2. Kshetra- place from which people have attained moksha

3. Kal- Kalyanak kal

4. Bhav- right belief, right knowledge, right conduct, virag bhav, 12 bhavnas, 10 dharam

Must give appropriate respect- not more to those who deserve less and not less to those who deserve more. If you do so, it is due to rag and dwesh

5 types of respect

1. Erth- repect to earn money (like store keeper to a customer)

2. Lok- Parents and family etc.

3. Kam- indulgence in 5 senses

4. Bhaya- out of fear (like your boss)

5. Moksha- Dharshan, gyan, charitra, tap, and upchar


Only one that should be done in religious context to avoid pap ashrov is #5
