Class Notes from 06/09/2008 (June 09th, 2008)

* How to understand "upchar karan" using some example?
=> We listen so many times in vyavhar that "patni sansar ka karan he", all other bahya samagri that we get due to aghati karma uday are not main reason for the navin karma bandh. But "mamtva" in these bahya samagri is the root cause of navin karma bandh.
=> If there won't be mamtva or asakti in par dravya, eventually we will let go par dravya.

* bahya samgri ya par dravya se karma bandh hota to kya hota?
=> If bahya samagri se bandh hota to jinko samagri nahi he vese naraki, ekendriya jiv etc might get moksha before sagni panchindriya jiv.
=> The importance of purusharth will not be there in such case. We can do purusharth to reduce our mamtva and go up on path of moksha, if karma bandh will be done because of par drvaya, we will not have control over situation.

* Yog is of three types: abhyantar dravya yog, bahya dravya yog, bhav yog.
bahya dravya yog = man, vachan, kaya ki pravruti/chesta = bosy's physical activities
abhyantar dravya yog = aatma ka parispandan = soul's physical activities
bhav yog = karman and nokarm vargana ko aatma se bandhane (ek kshetravaga rup rahne ki) ki aatma ki shakti

=> drvaya yog is physical activities either of body or soul. Due to which bhay yog rup aatma ki shakti pragat hoti he.

* What comes when yog happens?
=> karm vargana comes and attach to soul
=> no karma vargana comes and attach to body. This is due to the uday of sharir nam karma.
=> no karma vargana comes, at the same time no karma vargana goes away from body as well.

* yog is there even during vigraha gati:
=> this is due to karman kay yog
=> karma vargana comes during this but no karma vargana will not come

* Alpa yog:
=> it happens due to less activities of man, vachan and kaya.
=> still this alpa yog will attract "anant" karman vargana.
=> abhavya se anant guna jyada and sidhdha jivo ka anant ma bhag
=> extra: 608 jiv go to moksha in 6 months and 8 samay.

* understand two types of yog - subh and asubh
=> distinction of subh and asubh yog is based on intention and not activity
=> example: the activity of train journey could be subh yog if our intention is to go to tirth place. It could be asubh yog if we intend to go for picnic.
=> same activity could create subh or asubh yog based on intentions.
=> extra: each and every samay, we are getting anant karma pudgal parmanu. they get converted into 7 types of karma based on predefined rules. Even during subh yog, we get ghati karma. This is due to our condition of "mithytva".

* how many types/sub types of ghati karma gets bounded before samyaktva and after samyaktva?
=> out of 47 sub types of ghati karma , 41 are getting bounded to us at each samay. 2 are not getting bounded at all ( mishra darshan mohniya, samyaktva darshan mohniya ). One gets bounded in hasya or shok. Similarly, one gets bounded in rati or arti and one gets bounded in three types of ved.
=> samyaktva prapti se 10 karma sub types are not gonna be bounded. mithyatva darshan mohniya, 4 types of anantanubandhi kashay (part of charitra mohniya), teen parkar ki nindra (part of darshanaavaran), stri ved, napunsak ved (part of no kashay rupi charitra mohniya)

Excellent, all points covered.

Needs a correction about the Yog:

abhyantar dravya yog = man, vachan, kaya ki pravruti/chesta = bosy's physical activities
bahya dravya yog = aatma ka parispandan = soul's physical activities
bhav yog = karman vargana ko karma me parinamit karne ki aatma ki shakti

should be

bahya dravya yog = man, vachan, kaya ki pravruti/chesta = bosy's physical activities
abhyantar dravya yog = aatma ka parispandan = soul's physical activities
bhav yog = karman and nokarm vargana ko aatma se bandhane (ek kshetravaga rup rahne ki) ki aatma ki shakti
